Fifty (50) of them will be trained in web writing, and the other fifty (50) in web design, according to Elodie Akotossodé, president of the «Women EdTech» project.
The «Women EdTech» Technology Camp aims, on the one hand, to build the capacity of participating women to promote their businesses through the use of the internet and, on the other hand, to help them seize the opportunities offered by new ICT technologies. The project aims to promote women’s financial empowerment through ICT, said Elodie Akotossodé.
The mayor of Allada, Michel Acléhinto, praised the initiative, which he said is fully in line with the PAG, which aims to make Benin Africa’s digital hub by 2021.
Kanishka Gangopadhyay, Director of Public Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Benin, welcomed this training program for women and expressed his pride at seeing the financial resources allocated to this innovative project.
“This launch sends a strong message, and I urge the participants to attend regularly so they can gain as much knowledge as possible in the field of ICT,” said Serge Ahissou, Chief of Staff to the Minister of the Digital Economy.
The «Women EdTech» technology camp is funded by the United States of America in Benin.
