Startup Incubation
EdTech Impulse

EdTech Impulse supports the creation of innovative edtech startups with a particular focus on underserved communities and out-of-school learners. Digital technologies as a catalyst for sustainable educational change.

 

SME Acceleration Program · 5–7 months
Growth of Business

An acceleration program designed to empower women who lead small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through e-commerce, international trade, and entrepreneurial leadership. Two complementary phases: a national tour followed by hybrid support.

 

AI Training · 1,000 Women
Women's AI & Data Academy

A pioneering initiative by Women EdTech aimed at reducing gender inequality in the digital sector by training 1,000 African women in careers in artificial intelligence and big data. Job placement opportunities in Africa, France, and North America.

 

(2026 -2030)
SAMA – Smart Africa Market for All

The SAMA program, led by Smart Africa and funded by the Mastercard Foundation, is a four-year regional digital inclusion initiative in Benin, Ghana, and Zambia. In Benin, Women EdTech, in partnership with the Pigier Foundation, is responsible for implementing the program through training, entrepreneurial support, and follow-up with beneficiaries.

The program targets 10,000 women entrepreneurs (AICHA) and 6,000 young women with ICT degrees (NALA), with the aim of enhancing their employability and economic empowerment in the digital sector.

Digital Safe Space

An initiative led by Women EdTech aimed at preventing and combating technology-facilitated gender-based violence (TBG-FT). The subproject focuses on raising awareness, providing education, and creating safe digital spaces through the production and dissemination of educational content available in several local languages (Fon, Yoruba). This content is disseminated through local channels, including community radio stations and dedicated digital platforms, to reach a wide audience of young women and strengthen their ability to protect themselves, report incidents, and take action against online violence.

Next Impact

As part of the Next Impact (FP2E) program, Women EdTech—as a certified Business Support Organization (BSO)—is tasked with supporting a cohort of 25 young women entrepreneurs. Through this initiative, Women EdTech contributes to Next Impact’s goal of stimulating women’s entrepreneurship, strengthening the creation of sustainable businesses, and promoting access to financing by offering structured support ranging from ideation to market launch.

Startups operate in high-potential sectors such as agribusiness, digital technology, the cultural and creative industries (CCI), and the green economy.

Do you need a technical degree to apply?

No. Most of our programs are open to students starting at the BEPC level. Digit’Elle Africa, Business Growth, and the Technology Camps do not require any prior computer science knowledge—just motivation and a willingness to learn.

Does Women EdTech offer services to businesses?

Yes. We support small and medium-sized businesses, NGOs, and institutions in their digital transformation—including team training, process digitization, and consulting on e-commerce and international trade. Contact us for a customized quote.

Is it possible to take the courses online?

Yes. Several programs offer hybrid or fully online formats, including WIADA and our e-learning courses. The Technology Camps and Business Growth Phase 1 are primarily in-person.

Do I have to pay for the training courses?

Most of our programs are funded by our partners (GIZ, Mastercard Foundation, World Bank, AFD). They are therefore available free of charge or at a greatly reduced rate to selected participants. Any applicable fees are specified in each call for applications.
